HEALTH AND SAFETY COVID-19 STANDARDS

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

THE REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH BELOW ARE EFFECTIVE AS OF JULY 25, 2021 AND ARE APPLICABLE TO ALL CRUISE LINE OPERATORS WHOSE VESSELS CALL AT THE PORT OR WHOSE PASSENGERS OR CREW EMBARK OR DISEMBARK FROM ITS VESSELS WHILE AT THE PORT AND FORM A PART OF THE TERMS, CONDITIONS, TARIFFS AND RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF THE PORT AND ITS FACILITIES BY EACH SUCH CRUISE LINE OPERATOR AND ITS VESSELS. 

Roatan Cruise Terminal- Mahogany Bay (“Port”) has adopted mandatory health and safety standards (the “Standards”) applicable to any cruise line operator berthing vessels at the Port to mitigate the risk of exposure and spread of COVID-19 at the destination.  Cruise line operators (each a “Cruise Line Operator”) who have or wish to make berthing reservations at the Port and, as a condition to being granted berthing rights at the Port, and given free pratique to enter the Port, agree to comply with the following mandatory Standards: 

(1) Cruise Line Operator will either (a) assume the full financial responsibility for the medical care and safe evacuation or medical transportation of all passengers or crew who may be found to have or suspected of having COVID-19 or (b) will ensure that any passenger not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 aboard any vessel berthing at the Port facilities has obtained travel insurance prior to departure on the subject cruise to cover the cost of medical care and safe evacuation in case of an infection with COVID-19. This travel insurance policy must have a minimum of $10,000 per person in medical expense coverage and $30,000 coverage for emergency medical evacuation with no COVID-19 exclusions.

(2) Cruise Line Operator will ensure that at least 95% of all passengers and 95% of all on-duty/working crew aboard any vessel berthed at the Port facility or otherwise embarking, disembarking or visiting the Port facilities have been fully vaccinated with the full dosage of a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or World Health Organization (WHO) approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before departure on the subject cruise from its home port.       

(3) As a condition of the cruise vessel berthing at the Port and the granting of free pratique to the Port, and each time a vessel berths at the Port, Cruise Line Operator certifies to the Port that it is in full compliance with the above Standards. The Port may at any time request documentation evidencing compliance with the Standards from Cruise Line Operator.  Any Cruise Line Operator not in compliance with the Standards may be refused berthing rights at the Port.

(4) At any time, the Port may amend, modify or cancel any Standard or require additional standards relating to the health and safety of its Port facility to any cruise vessel berthing at the Port upon prior notice to the Cruise Line Operator, which notice shall be deemed duly given upon the posting of same on its website or the berthing reservation system located at bestcruiseports.com
